Big O

8.00 (good) Big O is a classic mecha, action, and mystery/drama anime. I remember it being a little gloomy but that was what made it unique. I really like the android character, but the hero's haircut was just plain silly. Its kind of like batman but with gigantic robots!

Cowboy Bebop

10.00 (excellent) This series is mature yet playful and a whole lot of creativity to boot. The characters are mysterious, the plot is believable and very badass sc-fi. I will say that the Movie was not very good, the series is much better. Between all of the main crew I'd say I like Ed and Ein the most, but who doesn't! Each episode was either extremely entertaining adventures, or a in-depth dip into one of the characters' lives. This is a classic that should be seen by every anime fan at least once through.

Deadman Wonderland

8.00 (good) I've completed what has been released of the manga for Deadman Wonderland, and watched the first 6 episodes so far. The anime series goes along well with the manga, however of course its a bit more corny.. also, they cut out a lot of the gore. The manga has much more gore/violence content and the art is very exceptional. The plot's twists and turns are cool and interesting but not entirely unexpected. Overall this manga is a superb example of action/mature/horror/psychological, and a great seinen read for anyone that is able to handle some very foul language and graphic violence (<3). This manga has no overdone sexual content or loooove stories, extremely mild - which I like a lot about it.

9.75 (excellent) This is an ominous and quirky series. Keep an eye out for references and enjoy the collection of animation styles. I can only wish that it were longer.

Fruits Basket

10.00 (excellent) Honestly, I love Fruits Basket to death and have since the manga was first on the shelves in my local Barnes and Noble bookstore. Every character has an honest and realistic story to them. My personal favorite characters were Tohru's momma and Uo. In the end, I wish the anime series was longer. The manga had a great ending, though I felt it was a tad rushed in comparison to all the building up the author did towards it, when I already figured it out at least 10 books before the end. Tohru is an ambient source of love and an adorable sort of stupidity that brings people together around her. Between Kyo and Yuki, I think they both needed Tohru more than anyone and it was hard to see her fall for one or the other, I think the author had the same problem, haha.

Full Metal Panic!

8.00 (good) There isn't a tag for Full Metal Panic! FUMOFFU, I assume its the same thing, but I know there is a serious version of the series, and a non-serious version. I have completely seen the silly one... And let me tell you, nearly every episode had me holding my gut. Especially the one with the ponytails. Sousuke Sagara is a complete riot to have in a normal school building.

7.00 (above average) I watched this anime series completely, overall it was a lot of bishies with long hair running around being sexy and depressing. The ending was a little anti-climactic, and I would have liked to see the heroine get a little more confused with who she likes instead of automatically picking the quietest, "coolest" man to fall in love with like every heroine does. Grrr! But that's only a personal pet-peeve of mine. I will warn you before you watch this series to be prepared for a lot of heartbreak, especially if you're a girl that likes bishounen....

8.00 (good) I'm not sure if this is the proper tag, but I watched the Japanese teen drama called "Hana-Kimi" this may be the tag for the manga but it is the same thing only live-action. The only reason I give this series an 8 is because the ending to the OVA and the series was just plain silly. Otherwise, this series was cute, entertaining, and I always wanted to know what would happen next. I watched it in a few days because I couldn't stop watching. Its similar to the manga in a lot of ways but there are a lot of things cut out and added that have nothing to do with the manga. Most of it was for comedic factor, though. I found Sano a little unlikable and bland in the series but I guess that's what shoujo girls think is cool. I personally liked Nakatsu better.

Inuyasha

7.00 (above average) I've seen far too much of this classic anime and will probably never see the end, since I went and read what happens on purpose. I actually never read the manga for Inuyasha, which is fine because it would have cost me way more money at the young age of 16. I really like it back then, but I got bored of it after my mom pointed out that all they do is scream eachother's names. INUYAHASSHAAHAAA!!!!!!!!!!!! KAAGOWWWMAYYYY!! KEEKEEYOOOOOH!!!! Never-the-less, its a great time-killer and is great for action/adventure, a touch of romance, and a very long drawn out plot with countless near-death situations and swordplay. Sesshoumaru is my favorite.. ahahaha...

Kaichou wa Maid-sama!

Last Updated: Nov 27, 2011

8.00 (good) I've completed the manga series of Kaichou wa Maid-sama! up until the latest release, and have watched the anime all the way through. The manga and the anime series match up pretty well, but of course the series is more simplified - honestly I liked the anime better. The manga beats around the bush with their relationship for too long for me. This anime/manga is a great addition to any shoujo collection, and is generally cute, sweet, and funny at any moment in time. The hero is a smooth guy, and the heroine is independent.

5.50 (average) I did like how this MANGA was drawn out, the hero is very reluctant to move forward with his new girlfriend because of a troubled past. It almost puts a pit in my stomach how much happens before they even kiss! Bad things and good - it'll leave you excited and pumping through the pages to find out how its all gonna go down.

8.00 (good) I have read the entire manga and seen the complete anime for this series. Overall the story was adorable, truly a great "Slice of Life" shoujo manga. I ranked it an 8 because it dragged on a bit sometimes, especially the manga. I really connected with this manga in a few ways, since I myself have always been too tall! And my mate is.. well, shorter than me XD

8.00 (good) Welcome to One Piece where time stops if a character is talking. So much character development, by the time they kill an enemy, you feel relieved and prosperous.

10.00 (excellent) This series is so entertaining. Satire, comedy, and you'll be rooting for the hero no matter what.

Reimei no Arcana

7.50 (good) Our heroine is drug along from place to place and abused by the villians because of her special red hair that reveals she is from a special old clan with a secret power. She isn't especially forthright to me, like Bella from Twilight - she just somehow does it all right. You can sense her pain when her power is used, powerful but powerless. Its an incredible journey with a well-done love triangle between the hero and her best friend. I started to lose interest toward the end but I knew the build-up had to be for a reason! Keep reading, this is a very unique manga.
The mangaka's style is what drew me to this series and kept me reading. The lines are thin and sharp, the characters are sturdy. There are tons of beautiful panels all done exactly in her style, no time was skipped in the effort they put in. The sharp, clean style very much suits the characters and the ones that are more flowy, it suits them as well. Each character gets multiple changes in how they look so you can really tell how much time is passing and how much each character has gone through symbolically.
This manga is very drawn out and dramatic. It generally has an intense feel. The love plot really takes you in and you feel it with the characters. Who should she choose, what should they do!? Not a whole lot of humor but well done drama and action.

Rurouni Kenshin

Last Updated: Nov 27, 2011

9.00 (very good) I have seen all of this series, read all the released manga, and seen all the OVAs. Kenshin is one great little samurai, but I really liked the stories of his past as a ruthless slaughterer a lot better. I counted off a point on this anime because the final villain looks really stupid with those tufts coming out of his bandages, I just can't get past it and he's in so many episodes at the end that I just got infuriated hahahha. My favorite character was the suave and cold Aoshi, but I was a lot younger when I watched this. I actually really liked the long dragged out fight episodes where they talked mostly until the last 5 minutes of the episode.

9.00 (very good) They have done enough justice to the manga, its really been brought to life, which pleases me. This is a slow, drawn out series that will be tugging at your heartstrings throughout. Mei is a solid character, her resolve will leave you feeling like an asshole about how you've handled situations in your life.

5.00 (moderate) I couldn't finish this series. It wasn't that it was not interesting, I just couldn't get a grasp on the characters. Felt like this series was only for looks and thigh-highs. The only character I liked was a villain from about 15 episodes in. The plot was alright, put it just wasn't popping for me.

9.00 (very good) Being my favorite anime, you might be surprised that I only gave it a 9. I only did this because there wasn't enough of a connection between Vash and Meryl, they should have at least smooched eachother! Besides a few filler episodes with very silly villains, this anime has a wonderful and original plot that has touched me through the years. Alongside the gunmanship and donuts, there was a deep and twisted past of Vash the Stampede that he could not shake or bury...And a special woman that showed him what it meant to be human when he himself would never have been able to understand without her words.
